One of my favourate materials: Leather

I Love (emphasis on love!!!!) working with leather, its hard and hurts my poor little fingers but I like the challenge it gives me. I stick to pretty much the same colour schemes when picking leather, earthy tones inparticular catch my eye. I don't but large pieces of leather as it can be quite pricey so instead I'm constantly on the look out for scraps that I can get on the market but also handbags and similiar items from charity shops that can quite easily be deconstructed for the material.

Lots of Love for this project.

This has to be my most favourate work I have produced whilst being a Textile craft student.
I love the work I have produced and feel I put all my effort into creating such high standard quality pieces. Although I have moved on to other projects since this once I finish University and have more time to experment I'm going to go back and try to push these ideas further.

Materials used and that can be seen in the images are such things as leather shammy cloths and sponges, ordinary scraps of leather, wax, sequins, beads, nuts, bolts, screws, washers, clock parts, car parts and cable ties.

Cable ties reappear many times throughout my work especially in my current working process on an extreme look which you will soon see!

Fond Memories ♥

I thought I would share some of my work from my first year at university. These images are of some collage work I produced for a drawing class, I always struggle to draw and often find my self playing around with different techniques until I am happy with what I produce.

I love these pieces of work as they are fun and fresh and I had a good time creating them!

The non existant blog of mine!

So its been quite some time since I set this blog up, I've been so snowed under with my textiles work I just needed to prioritize getting fully ahead in my Final Major Project which no doubt you will encouter whilst on my blog.

I intend to look at my past work and give you an insight to how I work through artists and designers who inspire my creative process right up until the present day which then hopefully I will pick up the habit of blogging regulary. Not only will your opinions help me but its a way to keep a nice tidy journal and help clear my head once in a while!

I hope you enjoy what you see!
