Once I had completed making the gloves I needed to move on to my Final Major project and decide whether I was to carry on with the theme of the allotment and the glove. I decided that I was going to progress with this idea however it needed a change, this change was to go more with my gut reaction and to over embellish the glove but also change the colour scheme to give it a more natural earthy vibe. With this in mind I began to work into a book that I purchased from Huddersfield Flea Market called "Percy Thrower's Encyclopaedia of Gardening, Quite fitting really.

The outcome.
In response to my project being based on allotments and gardening I decided that I would design/produce gardening gloves for women. The images seen on the gloves are all my own drawings that I transfered onto the gloves with the process of using heat transfer paper and the heat press with additional embroidery added on to finish the samples. Here are just a selection of my samples.
Allotment inpsired work
For my final year as a Textiles Crafts student I wanted to focus on a subject that could be broad enough to carry on throughout the year until my Final Major Project. This was to be decided to be based on allotments. I've always wanted my own plot of land as there is so much you can do with it, and its such a busy ever changing experience. As I don't have my own allotment it came in very handy when my boyfriends family do! Being able to record my visits through the little help of my camera was fun and meant I had lots of visuals to work from to make my samples and sketchbook work.
